The USDA program that provided free meals to all students has ended. The state of Connecticut has provided our district with funding to continue to provide free meals to all students on a temporary basis. To help make these funds last as long as possible, we need families to submit applications for USDA meal benefits.
This information helps our schools far beyond providing free meals for students. The information collected is used to determine everything from the school district's Title 1 funding to the discounts we can receive on utilities. There are also many optional grant programs that use this information as part of the qualification process.
